Gymnastics poster from 1972 Summer Olympics, held in Munich. Poster depicts female gymnast in mid-air, with the Olympic rings and blue solar logo (Bright Sun) framed by the words ''Munchen / 1972''. Olga Korbut was the star gymnast, Mark Spitz set a world record winning 7 gold medals, and the U.S. men's basketball team refused their silver medals after a controversial loss to the Soviet Union. But the games were overshadowed by the Munich massacre, in which 11 people were killed in a terrorist attack. Poster is mounted on foam board and measures 23'' x 32''. Minor edge wear and light creasing, overall very good condition.
