Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 23 August 1998. She writes to long-time friend Doris Leapard about writing a blurb for the jacket of Leapard's forthcoming book, ''Almost Integrated''. Lee writes about the publisher, ''...If they are waiting to send page proofs, tell them I've heard enough to have formed an opinion of it...'' Lee also mentions ''inscribing 308 books at one sitting''. The letter, written on a 4.75'' x 3.5'' note card, is signed ''Love, Nelle'', Lee's first name. Near fine condition. Accompanying envelope, signed ''LEE'', is very good.
