President John F. Kennedy original speech delivered at the meeting of the Democratic National Committee on the first full day of his presidency, 21 January 1961. In part: ''...I feel that the Party has served a most useful national purpose...you are the people who, in victory and defeat, have maintained the Democratic Party...The Party is the means by which programs can be put into action - the means by which people of talent can come to the service of the country...'' Speech is an original copy from JFK's Press Office. Two page document on a single sheet measures 8.5'' x 14''. Near fine.
