James Monroe signed Arkansas land grant, given to a Michael Tharp in 1823 for his service in the U.S. Army. Attractive document features a vignette to upper right of a family receiving their land grant. Monroe signs at bottom, ''James Monroe''. Vellum document measures 9.25'' x 12.75. With original cover addressed to Michael Tharp in New York. Seal has since been removed and some tape remnants to verso, otherwise in very good plus condition.
