Gone with the Wind Autographs
Gone with the Wind autographs are not that expensive, even for the main cast members who are long deceased. However, what is rare and expensive are Gone with the Wind autographs of the long deceased cast members on the Margaret Mitchell Gone with the Wind book which comes up at auction once in a while but not that often. You will see various variations of these Gone with the Wind autographs on the Mitchell book, with some having the entire cast, some having just the actresses and others all sorts of various combinations. We have sold three of these Gone With the Wind signed books but only have record of the two that sold recently. Here they are:

Gone With the Wind Autographs of Various Cast Members Including Gable, Leigh & DeHavilland in a Margaret Mitchell Book
Gone with the Wind autographs of various cast members in a Gone with the Wind book by Margaret Mitchell. Later (October 1938) printing. New York: Macmillan, 1938. Hardcover with period replacement dustjacket, 6″ x 8.5″, 1037 pages. Signed in fountain pen on the front free end page (both sides) and half-title page, “Clark Gable,” “Vivien Leigh,” “Olivia de Havilland,” “Ona Munson,” “Laura Hope Crews” (died 1942), “Prissy-butterfly mcqueen” [sic], and “Eddie Anderson.” The signatures were obtained by Philip Mitchell, a then-young (and uncredited) sound mixer on the film whose later credits included The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and the television series The Long Ranger and The Twilight Zone. In very good condition overall, with staining, soiling, and losses to jacket, light rubbing and wear to extremities (slight toning to spine; fraying and small tears to spine ends), light toning to interior (including signed pages), and slight cracking to hinges (discreet glue reinforcement to front hinge). All of the signatures are clear and dark. Cast-signed copies of this iconic classic are extremely elusive. Gone With the Wind signed book has PSA/DNA authentication. Sold for $6,672.
