Johnny Carson is still the all-time late night King.  The new guys never get ratings that Johnny got back in the day.  Because of his popularity, Johnny Carson memorabilia is very much in demand and is expensive.  Here at NateDSanders.com com Auction House, we sold a lot of Johnny Carson memorabilia consigned to us by his nephew who used to work with Johnny on the show.  Here are the Johnny Carson memorabilia descriptions, pictures and prices of each:

Johnny Carson Coffee Mug — Used by Carson on ”Tonight Show”

Johnny Carson coffee mug used on-set ”The Tonight Show.” A black and white photo of Carson is on one side of this mug with his name, ”Johnny” printed on the other side. The 3.5” high mug was made by the Burbank Mug Shop in Burbank, California. Lot includes photos of the mug in use on Carson’s ”Tonight Show” desk. One of a limited number of mugs actually used by Carson on the show. Fine condition.  Our priciest piece sold of Johnny Carson memorabilia. Sold for $9,979.

Johnny Carson Handwritten Monologue — 11 Pages of Jokes & Commentary Written by Carson for a 1978 Hosting Event

Eleven pages of handwritten monologue by Johnny Carson for a 5 May 1978 Friar’s Club dinner where he acted as Master of Ceremonies. That night, the Friar’s Club was honoring several newsmen and many of Johnny’s jokes revolved around news of the day, with light roasting of the major newsmakers in attendance. He writes, ”…Looking at this head table, do you realize half the people on the dais have reported some of the most dismaying, horrendous news in world history – and the other half of he dais caused it?…Howard Cossel [sic] was a scheduled speaker – but Howard is having himself cloned tonite – so hell have someone to talk to. Barbara Walters wanted to be here – but she’s working on her next special – an exclusive interview with Jesus Christ & Charo…Senator Javits is known as a Liberal Republican – that’s a guy who thinks the G.O.P. should do more for black polo players…intro Tom Brokaw – the Donny Osmond of the news…intro Kissinger…” Each page 1-13 is numbered, but missing pages 4-5. Measures 7.75” x 12.5” on Carson’s personal notepad sheets. Toning, else near fine. Lot includes two page list of attendees for the event.  Holograph Johnny Carson memorabilia is unheard of.  Sold for $7,919.

Johnny Carson Mark from ”The Tonight Show” Set — Outstanding Piece of Johnny Carson Memorabilia

Johnny Carson mark from ”The Tonight Show” set, where he delivered his monologue on each show. The star was embedded in the floor of NBC Studio 1 in Burbank, where the ”Tonight Show” was produced. Carson ”hit the mark” every night after his famous introduction by Ed McMahon, ”Here’s Johnny!” 11” x 12.5” silver star on a black background is framed to an overall size of 17” x 19”. Expected scuff marks to surface of mark, else near fine. A spectacular tribute to Johnny’s award-winning monologues and consummate professionalism over his long career. Johnny Carson memorabilia sold by his nephew. Sold for $3,844.

Producers Guild Award — Lifetime Achievement Award Presented to the Producer of ”The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”

Producers Guild of America award trophy from 1992, honoring Fred De Cordova, producer of the ”Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”. Award features a large medal reading, ”The Producers Guild of America”, flanked by laurel sprigs and affixed to a glossy black cube base. Plaque on the front of the base reads, ”The / David Susskind / Television / Lifetime Achievement Award / Fred De Cordova / 1992”. This same year, Johnny Carson was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the following year, a Kennedy Center Honor. The show aired for thirty years as a fixture of entertainment in America. Accompanied by a DVD of the 10th Annual PGA awards. Trophy measures 9” in height, with 5” diameter medal. Base measures 5” x 4” x 5”. Weighs a hefty 11 pounds 14 ounces. With Thomas Benton manufacturer’s sticker to underside. Chipping to base finish at right rear upper corner, else fine.  Sold for $1,875.
