Bon Scott Autograph
AC/DC is one of those classic rock bands where one of the band members dropped dead early. That is the reason that a Bon Scott autograph is worth a great deal of money. Since Scott died in 1980 and was replaced, all of the AC/DC autographs since then aren’t worth nearly as much money as the classic AC/DC autographs with a rare Bon Scott autograph. Here are some Bon Scott autographs that we have sold:
1977 AC/DC Tour Program Signed With 18 Signatures by the Band — Including Several Signatures by Bon Scott Who Died in 1980 — With Roger Epperson COA
AC/DC tour program for their album “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, signed profusely by the band members, Angus Young, Bon Scott, Malcolm Young and Phil Rudd. 1977 UK tour program is signed on the front cover in blue ballpoint “Angus Young” and “Bon”, with an additional inscription of “AC/DC” by Young. Angus Young and Scott sign a further five times each throughout the program, as do Malcolm Young (signs four times) and Phil Rudd (signs twice). According to the autograph seeker who obtained the signatures, they were reportedly obtained on 19 March 1977 when the band arrived at the venue prior to their concert in Southend-on-Sea. An LOA to this effect accompanies the lot. Measures 8.25″ x 11.75″. Some wear and creasing to program; overall in very good condition. Nice and rare Bon Scott autograph. With Roger Epperson COA. Sold for $4,859.
Very rare and lengthy autograph letter signed by Bon Scott, the AC/DC lead singer named #1 ”Greatest Frontmen of All Time” by ”Classic Rock” magazine. Scott writes to his childhood friend Valerie Lary while touring in 1978, referencing AC/DC’s live album, a grueling tour schedule, Phil Rudd and much more. Though undated, content dates the letter to 1978 during AC/DC’s ”Powerage” tour, and Scott tells Valerie he’s writing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, further dating it to late August, 1978. Letter spans three pages on three separate sheets, each measuring 7.25” x 10.5”. Folds and a small bit of creasing, else near fine condition. With Roger Epperson COA and a letter of authenticity from Valerie Lary. Sold for $9,831.
