Laser Cut Metal and Mesh Bodysuit

From ThreeASFOUR, the avant garde designers who have previously collaborated with Yoko Ono and other artists comes this outrageous bodysuit. The team created the bodysuit in a US size 4 for Lady Gaga for the March 2014 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, in which Gaga discussed topics ranging from the fact that she does not have an eating disorder to the three most expensive things she’s ever purchased: “my sable, a strand of diamonds, and my Mikimoto pearls.

Lady Gaga Photoshoot

Provenance from “Born This Way”

Lady Gaga auctioned the entire spread from the Harper’s photo shoot on February 18th of this year, with proceeds going to her charity, the “Born This Way” foundation. The ThreeASFOUR bodysuit attracted 70 bidders at that auction, one of the more popular pieces.

Spandex Power Mesh

The suit is a beige colored bodysuit with stainless steel triangular sequins and stainless steel laser cut arm and calf pieces. Lady Gaga wore the bodysuit in Harper’s Bazaar, which was photographed by her friend Terry Richardson. The piece was accompanied by a “proust-style” interview, where she candidly and authentically answered questions about her life and love.

As MTV notes, Lady Gaga looks like she is ready to blast off for a space odyssey  in this photo shoot, whose images range from the silver and “nude” suit auctioned this month with Nate D Sanders, to the Versace jumpsuit she wears while holding an actual helmet.

Valuing Items on Auction

How does anyone really know the value of the items on auction? It comes down to several factors, including provenance, rarity, condition, quality and fashion.

In the case of the Lady Gaga bodysuit, we feel strongly that this item is incredibly valuable. This one-of-a-kind piece bid strongly in February, similar to the Versace jumpsuit which sold for $10,200. Its provenance is directly from Lady Gaga to Lady Gaga “Born This Way” Foundation charity auction, and is in fine quality, with a couple missing sequins, otherwise near fine condition. Lady Gaga’s photo shoot in Harper’s was her first appearance in 2014, and after a quiet hiatus from the press, she seems ready to bounce back and remain in the limelight. We predict that Lady Gaga will be in the news and fashionable, if not trendy, for the foreseeable future.
