Benjamin Harrison typed letter signed as President-Elect on 14 November 1888, eight days after winning the Presidential election. Written on his personal letterhead of ''Benjamin Harrison / Indianapolis, Ind.'' Harrison thanks W.T. Warburton, Esq. and references the Chicago Republican convention: ''My Dear Sir:- Allow me to thank you for your friendly letter of Nov. 9th extending your congratulations, and to thank you for your earlier interest expressed by your action in the Chicago Convention. Very truly yours, [signed] Benj. Harrison''. Includes original envelope, measuring 6'' x 3.5''. Letter measures 8.5'' x 5.5''. Separation starting along folds, and light soiling. Very good condition.
