The plethora of items, most signed ''Mary Astor'', include 1) her contract with Doubleday for a novel ''about a world cruise''; 2) a 1969 Delacorte Press contract for ''The Most Enchanted''; 3) her contract with publisher WH Allen & Co. for her nonfiction account of her Hollywood career ''A Life On Film''; 4) her contract with Doubleday for ''The O'Connors''; 5) a twice signed agreement with Alvin Redman Ltd. Publishers; 6) a Delacorte Press contract for her novel ''A Place Called Saturday''; 7) the contract with Doubleday for her autobiography; 8) a contract with Doubleday for ''The Incredible Charlie Carew''; 9) a 1968 contract with WH Allen Publishers pertaining to ''A Place Called Saturday''; 10) her road test from the DMV in 1971 (she passed_; 11) & 12) two typed letters to her agent Gloria Sefier signed ''Mary''; 13) a typed letter signed to a realtor to show and sell her home in Alamos; 14) & 15) 2 autograph letters signed ''Mary'' to Sefier; 16) a contract under AFTRA's jurisdiction for her October 1959 TV role as Lydia in ''A Family Affair Part I''; 17) admission agreement to the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital dated 30 August 1971; 18) contract for her 1959 TV role in ''Philadelphia Story''. Interesting content from the handwritten letters, including ''...my experience in acting will help me...be a good writer, not only from the more obvious reasons of characterization, familiarity with scripts, etc. but out of the less tangible qualities that make a 'good trouper' -- persistence, respect for the medium, study and work...'' Documents vary in size from 5'' x 4'' to 8.5'' x 17''. Light toning, chipping and tearing to some documents. All signatures clear. Overall in very good condition.
