Large Sunday comic of "Buster Brown" by Richard F. Outcault, circa 1916, rendered in ink and watercolor. In this installment, Buster Brown, Mary Jane and Tige comically attempt to make a pumpkin pie for Christmas, but Buster resolves not to make excuses for himself in the end. Strip is undated, but accompanying letter by John F. Outcault, Richard Outcault's grandson, dates it to 1916. No newspaper label is present. Visible portion of strip measures 19.25" x 23.25", mounted to foam board and matted to 24.75" x 28.75". Some puncture abrasions throughout, overall in very good condition.
