Lincoln's secretary John Hay's definitive biography in ten volumes, ''Abraham Lincoln: A History''. Published by Century Co.: New York: 1890. Set is bound in green cloth boards with gilt lettering, top edge gilt and deckled edges. Volumes measure 6.75'' x 9.25''. A prior owner's inscription is written to the title page of each volume, indicating set was gifted to the party at ''...Christmas 1891''. Cracking to the interior rear hinges of Volumes 8 & 10, and cracking with separation to the interior front hinge of Volume 3. Light toning to leaves and very minor scuffing to exteriors and the slightest cocking to spines, else near fine. A very well-preserved complete set of the authoritative biography by Lincoln's trusted secretary.
