''A Short History of the English People'' by John Richard Green. MacMillan and Co.: London: 1902. In four volumes, this is the special illustrated reissue of the original 1892 publication. Each volume, measuring 7'' x 10'', averages 470pp. and contains color frontispiece with tissue overlay. Topics include ''England Under Foreign Rule'', ''The Three Edwards'' and ''Puritan England''. Royal blue cloth boards are nicely embellished with gilt design and font. Spine of volume I is starting to separate, and all books have foxing and some pencil notes, though not affecting bright interior. Very good.
