William S. Burroughs signed limited edition ''hors commerce'' copy of his ''Doctor Benway'', published by Bradford Morrow: Santa Barbara: 1979. Burroughs signs to limitation page of book, initialing ''W'' under his signature, indicating its limited edition number 23 out of 26. ''Doctor Benway'' is a compilation of variant passages from Burroughs' classic ''Naked Lunch'', and features a new introduction written by Burroughs, commemorating its 20th anniversary. Countersigned by printer Patrick Reagh and illustrator K. Anders. Clothed in lavender boards with navy blue cloth spine and with original lavender green and red dustjacket. Runs 43pp., measures 6.75'' x 9.5''. Near fine.
