Walt Disney signed first edition of ''The Gremlins'', published by Random House: New York: 1943. Disney signs with his typical flourish to the front free endpaper, ''To Joan / With Best Wishes / Walt Disney''. Written by Roald Dahl during WWII so as to boost morale among British children, the story follows a ragtag group of heroic characters named ''Gremlins''. Hardcover first edition is bound in red boards with yellow and red illustrations of aerial scenes on cover and pastedowns. Measures 9'' x 11.5'' and runs 51pp. Book does not have the scarce dustjacket. Some shelf wear to boards, overall very good condition. With a COA from Phil Sears.
