Luxurious mink cape owned by the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, considered the best dressed woman of the 20th century. Beautiful cape features a dark mink collar and vertical panel, with four panels of white mink filling out the body of the cape. Secured at top with a braided cord closure. Cape measures approximately 15.5'' long. Both the fur and interior lining are in near fine condition. The fabric lining attached to the fur has some tears and fur is pulling away from the fabric in areas. With an autograph note signed on custom stationery by Janine Metz, the Duchess's social secretary, to whom this cape was given; lot also includes a photo from the Bal des Bercreaux, French-American Aid for Children Auction catalog, where the cape was featured as lot 11 in its 2008 sale.
