Stan Laurel typed letter signed, written upon his personal letterhead on 28 January 1963. Laurel writes to his pen-pal friend Bill Brown on a host of issues including his comedy partner Oliver Hardy. Letter reads in part, ''...I saw Buster Keaton in 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' series, he was quite good I thought...No, have had no approaches to team up with anybody since Mr. Hardy passed on - even if I were active I would'nt consider it...I doubt if the Golden era of comedy will ever return - time is marching on.!...Mr. Hardy never had any Daughter or sons either to my knowledge...I get many fan visitors, phone calls & requests for autographs, photos etc. do'nt mind a bit meeting many nice people...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Letter measures 8'' x 10'' with original envelope. Folds, else near fine.
