Stan Laurel typed letter signed, dated 2 March 1964 on his Oceana apartment stationery, where he lived at the time. Laurel responds to questions from a fan, generously giving insight into his years performing with Oliver Hardy. Letter reads in part, ''...I. I have no L&H posters or display in my Apt. how ridiculous.!! 2. Guess you'll have to check with other dealers of old STILLS for L&H 'Fra Diavalo' film 3. I have just the two awards - The Oscar & the Screen Actors Guild trophy...4. Never knew any of the Stars you mention personally. 5. The Army Draft Film was 'PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES'...7. I don't recall any particular favorite joke of Oliver's - I have no 'SCOTTISH' JOKES??!! what gave you this idea??! [signed] Stan Laurel''. Letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Folds, else near fine.
