Dated 1 May 1963, letter reads in part, ''...Yes I saw the Don Wilson Dennis Day doing an impersonation of L&H, also the skit that Dick Van Dyke did with Henry Calvin as Hardy recently, I thought the latter was better of the two skits. I much preferred Bob Hope than Sinatra as M.C. for the Academy Awards show...Yes I knew about Al St. John's passing sometime ago...Also knew re Olsen & Johnson quite some time ago. Interesting to know that 'Screen Thrills' have assembled a lot of old film clips of all the old time comics...I have'nt heard about the L&H Review film - who's producing that? / Note you had a slight accident with you [sic] Auto - you should sue the City for leaving Corners laying around - thats bloody careless.! I do'nt watch the 'ToDay' program do'nt get up that early. I heard about Hugh Downs paying tribute to Buster Keaton, must have been very interesting.!...No never appeared in a Circus, in Scotland or anywhere else...Never had a 'Tin Lizzie' type car...You should have bought that I930 model for $6.000...if its still for sale GRAB IT.!...The pie throwing film was 'Battle of the Century' 4000 REAL pies were used - made by the Los Angeles Pie Co...[signed] Stan Laurel''.
