Excellent Robert Crumb color drawing of Fritz the Cat, showing Fritz smoking a cigar with the caption ''A Boy Ey?''. Crumb gifted the drawing to William Cole upon the birth of Cole's son in 1968, also the same year Crumb's son was born. Cole published the first mass market edition of ''R. Crumb's Head Comix'', the early editions of which contain ''A William Cole book'' printed within. Drawing on board measures 3.75'' x 8.75'', signed ''Robert & Danie Crumb'' on a cut-out piece of paper affixed to bottom right. Drawing is accompanied by original mailing envelope, artwork in its own right, addressed in bubble letters to ''Big Bill Cole'' and depicting a smiling sun across rolling hills. Envelope measures 14.25'' x 10.75'', with faded postmark of March 1968 and some creasing. Fritz drawing is very well preserved, with no toning or blemishes, and still vivid colors. Near fine condition.
