WWII Iwo Jima hero Rene Gagnon envelope signed, postmarked 12 December 1944 from San Francisco. Addressed to his girlfriend, Pauline Harnois. Signed with his full name, ''Pvt. Rene Arthur Gagnon U.S.M.C. / Co. E. 28th Mar. 5th Mar. Dir. J.M.J. / c/o H.P.O. San Francisco Calif.'' Stamp at upper right has been cut out, though not affecting postmark. With an initialed ''Passed by Naval Censor'' stamp. Very good condition.
