Queen Victoria autograph letter signed ''The Queen'', and additionally signed within the body of the letter as she refers to herself in the third person. Composed on embossed Royal letterhead from Windsor Castle on 12 September 1837, just months after her coronation earlier that year, Victoria writes, ''The Queen has just received Lord John Mansfield's[?] communication with respect to Mr. Cobbett & highly approves the course he intends to pursue on this subject. / The Queen''. Two page vellum letter measures 4.5'' x 7.25''. Block of toning to first page and scattered foxing. Overall in very good condition.
