Official press release announcing the appointments of the Committee of the Fine Arts Commission, as part of the Kennedy White House Restoration project. Dated 23 February 1961, announcement reads in part, ''...the purpose of the committee is to locate authentic furniture of the date of the building of the White House (1802) and the raising of the funds to purchase this furniture as gifts to the White House...'' Document goes on to list each member of Jackie's committee and gives a short biography of each. Runs 3pp. on 3 sheets measuring 8.5'' x 14''. Stapled to upper left. Release bears a pencil notation of ''SP'' (Sally Powers) to upper right corner of first page and check marks next to the name of each committee member on the second and third pages. Tape mark down the center of the first page. Very good. Originally from the papers of Sally Powers, who served as secretary to White House curator Lorraine Pearce.
