Ulysses S. Grant pardon signed as President, datelined Washington, 24 May 1875. The 18th President boldly signs ''U.S. Grant'' to bottom of partially printed document, which pardons a man named Joseph H. Blackburn. Public records show that Blackburn was a white man, but his crime is not known without more research. Single page document measures 7.75'' x 10''. Half inch tear at bottom fold and minor chipping to top and right edges. Very good plus condition.
