President Chester A. Arthur photo signed. Sepia toned photo dates to circa 1882. Three-quarter-length portrait of Arthur depicts him posing in an overcoat with his top hat resting on a nearby table. Signed and inscribed along mat beneath photo, ''To John Jameson, with sincere regard, / Chester A. Arthur''. Most likely inscribed to John Jameson, an Amherst, Massachusetts lawyer appointed to postmaster in December 1876. Measures approximately 16'' x 21'' and is nicely framed and matted to an overall size of 10.5'' x 24.25''. Overall, very good to near fine.
