Dwight Eisenhower signs: ''D.E.'' in bold black marker to a typed letter on his personal gilt-monogrammed White House stationery, dated 16 January 1956. Eisenhower writes to his brother Edgar, teasing him: ''Dear Ed: Whenever your birthday rolls around, for a moment at least I have the pleasurable sensation of feeling just a trifle younger. So my felicitations to you are always particularly enthusiastic. I hope you manage to celebrate the day in a befitting manner...'' Measures 7'' x 10.25''. Folds and an inch-long pink line near tail edge, else near fine.
