Original World War II bird's-eye-view press photo of Omaha Beach immediately following D-Day, showing wreckage, naval ships and barrage balloons. Information sheet stapled to photo from the Signal Corps dates the photo to 23 June 1944 and gives a detailed description about the operation. It also indicates that this photo was withheld from release until 1 November 1948. Glossy black and white photo measures 10'' x 4''. Two staples, otherwise near fine.
