Original 11'' x 12.25'' silver-gelatin photograph of the iconic Marilyn Monroe, taken by Andre de Dienes in 1946 during his first photo shoot with Marilyn using her new stage name, Marilyn Monroe. In fact, as de Dienes was one of Marilyn's favorite photographers, this may be the first photo session of her as Marilyn Monroe. Doubleweight Type I photograph shows backstamp by de Dienes, developed by de Dienes himself likely very soon after after the photo session, as later-issued restrikes were done on newer paper. Silver-gelatin photo measures 11'' x 12.25''. Very minor curling, otherwise near fine condition.
