Olympic relay torch used in the 1984 Winter Olympic games in Sarajevo, the first Olympics held in a Communist country. The relay route was actually run simultaneously in the east and west, designed to promote coexistence between the superpowers. Torch was designed by Boris Tutschin and manufactured by Mizuno Corporation, with an elongated silver handle and gold colored disc reading ''Sarajevo '84'' in relief, along with the Mizuno logo. Torch measures 22.75'' long and 4'' in diameter along the disc. With orange Sarajevo Olympic logo on top of handle, the Olympic rings and logo on handle, and engraved ''Mizuno Corporation / Japan'' on bottom. Minor indentations to metal, and discoloration from use in the relay, overall in very good condition. Accompanied by Mizuno display stand.
