Academy Award-winning actress Mary Astor autograph letter signed, dated 9 May 1968. To her agent Gloria Safier, letter discusses various edits pertaining to her upcoming book, ''A Place Called Saturday'' and ends with a note about the difficulty she has concentrating. Reads in part: ''Hi darling!...Galleys and letter from Richard Kennedy. I've given it a quick look -- doesn't seem to be much for me to do, thank goodness...If you can sell this book for films -- it would really be great for me...Mary'' She then writes extensively about a town in Mexico called Alamos she hopes to settle down in someday, ''...I've fallen in love with a town, its people and a way of life that I didn't think was possible any more...'' 2pp. letter measures 6.5'' x 9.75'' and has Safier's typed response on rice paper stapled to top. Very good.
