Mary Astor autograph letter signed upon stationery showing her Malibu address. Dated simply 22 June, Astor's letter to her agent Gloria Safier reads in full, ''Dear Gloria - I don't think the title 'Take Two' is worth any fuss of any kind. With the fad for complete sentences as titles how does this strike you: [typed] 'Some People Are Actors'. Ask Lee, and if he doesn't care for it I'll keep thinking - and he might have some suggestions. The above reverses the cliche and is in line with my story, which is basically a story of two people who fall in love, get married, separate + reconcile, within the framework of their special problems and their occupation. How are ya! Love, Mary''. Single-page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Filing notation to top edge, else near fine.
