Lot of seven photos signed by mid-century jazz and swing musicians. Lot includes:
1) Billie Holiday signed 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photo. Inscribed in blue ballpoint, ''For Andy the Paper Boy Best always / Billie Holiday''. Also signed by John Levy, a jazz musician and boyfriend of Holiday's. Some creasing and light soiling, in good plus condition.
2) Oscar Peterson signed 8'' x 10'' glossy photo, inscribed
in black felt-tip, ''To Smokey! / Best Wishes! / Oscar Peterson''. Small closed tear at top right and light creasing, overall in very good condition.
3) Lionel Hampton signed 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photo, inscribed in black felt-tip, ''Good Luck / Always / Somekey [sic]. Lionel Hampton''. Moderate creasing, overall in very good condition.
4) Cozy Cole signed 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photo, inscribed in blue ballpoint, ''To Smoky / Sincerely / Your Pal, / Cozy Cole''. Some creasing, overall in very good condition.
5) Sarah Vaughan signed 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photo, inscribed in black felt-tip, ''To Smokey / All the best / Sarah Vaughan''. Light creasing and spot at top right, overall very good.
6) Louis Armstrong signed 8'' x 10'' glossy publicity photo, inscribed in blue ballpoint, ''Best wishes / to Smokey / Louis Armstrong''. Light creasing and spotting along top margin, overall very good condition.
7) Cab Calloway and his orchestra signed 10'' x 8'' glossy publicity photo, signed by all in blue inks, without inscription and with each band member adding their instrument. In addition to Calloway, photo is signed by Keg Johnson, Hilton Jefferson, Jonah Jones, Panama Francis, Hugh Wright and one unidentified individual. Circular piece missing at top, moderate creasing and soiling, overall in fair to good condition.
