The pitcher, who was infamously implicated in the fixing of the 1919 World Series and banned for life from major league baseball, adds an autograph inscription to the verso reading: ''to my Friend / John Ferrel / Eddie V. Cicotte / White Sox''. Semi-matte photo measures 5'' x 7''. Cicotte's name typed on the border beneath his image has been hand-darkened with ink, else near fine.
