Actor Edwin Booth, most famous for his association with his brother, John Wilkes Booth, autographs a quote from ''Hamlet,'' dated May 1880. The actor, considered by some the greatest American actor and the greatest Hamlet of the 19th century, handwrites this Shakespearean quote: ''There's a divinity that shapes our ends / Rough-hew them how we will.'' He signs, ''Edwin Booth / May 1880.'' Booth, who performed with his infamous brother before the Lincoln assassination, began playing his signature role of Hamlet in 1866. 7.5'' x 4.75'' album page is in fine condition.
