Original hand-drawn sketch by Charles Schulz of Snoopy playing tennis, drawn upon a typed letter signed by Schulz. The ''Peanuts'' creator's famous cartoon beagle has swung his racquet, but missed the ball. Schulz' letter to Hyatt PR Director Sandie Wernick is dated 16 April 1980. It reads in full: ''Dear Sandie: For me, the main factor would be a one-day tournament. What time of day would not matter - even having it last all day would be suitable. Fridays or Saturdays would certainly be alright. The season of the year is almost impossible to predict because of other personal commitments. These are about the only thoughts I have. Best regards, [signed] Charles M. Schulz''. He underscores ''one-day tournament'' and ''Fridays or Saturdays''. 1pp. on verso of Wernick's original letter to Schulz on Hyatt stationery measures 8.5'' x 11''. Toning, creasing, and pinholes. Very good.
