William McKinley inaugural ball program, dated 4 March 1897. The first of McKinley's two inaugurations was followed by a lavish ball in the sumptuous hall of the Pension Building, now the National Building Museum, pictured on the front of the program. The three 9.75'' x 6.75'' pages, separated by tissue, are bound together with ribbon. Booklet includes images of McKinley and Vice President Garret Hobart and names of ball committee members. Minor soiling and creasing, else very good.
