First printing without disclaimer to preliminary page, bound in publisher's black boards, and housed in the first printing dust jacket with misspelled heroine's name on the front flap as ''Katharine Barclay''. Measures 5.75'' x 7.75'' and runs 355 pages. Price-clipped jacket is heavily toned and chipped with portion of spine missing, and some tape repair to verso, overall fair condition. Book is in very good condition with light creasing to boards, repair to pastedowns, bottom portion of front hinge starting and wear to spine label.
