Karl Ferris signed album cover for ''Are You Experienced'' by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Known as the Icon with the Nikon, Ferris' process of creating vivid atypical colors paired with his use of unconventional lenses produced the signature psychedelic aesthetic that defined rock albums and posters of the 1960s. Ferris describes how this album design came to be, writing in black felt-tip, ''Jimi saw my Hollies 'Evolution' cover and wanted something similarly Psychedelic on his debut US Cover, as he was unhappy with his boring UK cover. I thought that Jimi's music sounded so 'Far Out', like from outer space. This gave me the idea of the group travelling through space in a Bubble to bring their Space Music to Earth. So, I decided to use my Fisheye lens to create this spherical image and my special Colour Infrared film technique. / Photographer and Designer / K Ferris''. Near fine condition.
