After enjoying a hugely successful career on the big screen that culminated with an Oscar and her role in ''The Maltese Falcon'', Astor retired from acting to pursue a writing career instead. Dated 11 November 1959, card reads, ''This is to certify that Mary Astor / S3111 / Having paid all dues and assessments to date is hereby granted an Honorable Withdrawal Card''. Measures 4'' x 2.5''.
