Joe Rosenthal signed print of the historic flag raising atop Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima, marking the first successful U.S. beachhead on Japanese soil during World War II. Signed by Rosenthal underneath the photo, ''Joe Rosenthal / Mt. Suribachi / Iwo Jima / Febr 23, 1945''. Photo additionally shows two First Day of Issue postal cancellations, on 21 July 1980 commemorating the Veterans Administration, and on 7 June 1983 commemorating the U.S. Medal of Honor. Print measures 8.5'' x 11''. Uniform block of toning, light creasing at lower right corner, and a stray pencil mark at upper right. Overall in very good condition.
