Lou Rawls won three Grammy awards in his career, all for his flawless, cool, four-octave range voice, of which Frank Sinatra commented: ''the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game.'' Grammy plaque reads in full: ''National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences / Lou Rawls / Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal, Male - 1977 / 'Unmistakably Lou'''. Award is a gold-plated metal representation of a gramophone affixed to a heavy wooden base, where the plaque is affixed. The ''NARAS'', National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, copyright is engraved to side. Measures 5'' x 5'' x 6.5''. Weighs 1 lb. 12 oz. Some tarnishing to metal and nicks to base, but in unusually very good plus to near fine condition.
