Interestingly, Scott accepted this Golden Globe less than two months before refusing the Best Actor Academy Award for ''Patton'', becoming the first actor to reject an Oscar and making this Golden Globe the only major award for his performance. An engraved plaque is mounted to the marble pedestal reading, ''George C. Scott / Best Motion Picture Actor / Drama / Patton / 1970 / Hollywood Foreign Press Association / 3174''. Measures 8.75'' in height. Square base measures 3'' x 3''. Weighs 3 lbs., 8 oz. Near fine condition.
