American Music Award presented to Village People in 1978, in the category of Favorite Duo, Group or Chorus Disco Music. Pyramid-shaped lucite award rests on a base with a plaque affixed to the front bearing the name of the award and its recipient. Unlike the Grammys, which are determined by music industry insiders, the American Music Awards are based on record sales and airplay. Award trophy measures 14'' in total height on a 4.5'' square base. Glue and sharpie marks at base of pyramid and minor chipping to base, possibly as a result of a repair. Overall very good condition. Consigned by Village People member Felipe Rose, and with an LOA from him.
