General George Patton typed letter signed, ''G S Patton Jr''. Letter dated 12 August 1940 is addressed to ''My dear Wallender'' and reads in part, ''...I appreciate all the help you gave Mrs. Patton. Ship the stuff to South Hamilton...If possible fix it so I can pay for the shipment in advance or at least so that it will not go to her collect. I have written the Adjutant to day to ship the horses and am returning the forms signed. He will let you know when to make the shipment...'' Measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Single-page letter on Patton's personal stationery shows toning, pencil underscoring, filing punch holes to left edge and staple puncture to upper left. Overall very good.
