1881 Boston Baseball Association stock certificate, featuring the organization's raised seal with its formation date of 1871. Signed ''A.R. Soden'' by President Arthur Soden. Dated 16 December 1881 and numbered ''93'', certificate is for one share from ''J.W. Cumming'' to ''J.W. Cumming'' and reads in part, ''This is to certify that J.W. Cumming is the proprietor in one share[s] in the paid up capital of the Boston Baseball Association...'' With two ''voids'' handwritten across share, as ''name is spelled wrong.'' Dampstaining to lower right edge and some toning, else very good.
