FA Cup gold medal awarded to a pitch staff member, one of only three staffers awarded the medal, customarily issued almost exclusively to the winning players. Solid 9 carat gold medal is from the FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Millwall, played 22 May 2004 at the Millennium Stadium, in Cardiff, Wales. Manchester United emerged the victor for a record eleventh time. Medal by Firmin & Sons is inscribed, ''The Football Association''. Bears full English hallmarks, with the recipient's name, AJ Green engraved on a banner to the side bearing two crossed flags. Rim is struck with ''2003-04''. Medal measures just over 1'' in diameter. Fine. Housed in original silk and velvet lined case with lid marked ''Assistant Referee'' in gilt. Accompanied by a sterling silver ring bearing the Royal Arms of England on the top and ''England'' inscribed into the side. Ring measures nearly 0.75'' x 0.5'' across the face and weighs .75 ounces, or 22 grams. Approximate size 12. Near fine.
