Syracuse China plate with the U.S. Supreme Court building illustrated in a decal on the rim. Salad plate features a heavy ring in dark blue around the edge and a thinner blue ring encircling the center. Verso bears maker's mark of, "Old Ivory / Syracuse China / O.P. CO". The Syracuse China company pioneered lithography of decals to china. The Supreme Court building upon the china was constructed in 1935; thus, plate was made between 1935 and 1960, when the logo was changed to exclude the banner that appears here. Measures 9.75" in diameter. Fine.
