Rare White House exhibit collection china plate of the design commissioned by President and First Lady Franklin Roosevelt. Underside of dinner plate features the famed Lenox official watermark and reads, "Exhibit Collection for Lenox Inc. / The White House 1934". As a part of the "exhibit collection", plate is designated to serve in displays of White House china or go on loan to various Presidential exhibits. Design features the Great Seal of the U.S. in full color on the rim, with rim edge displaying a navy blue stripe dotted with gilt stars and flanked by gilt bands and a single gilt ring around the center. Made by Lenox, one of the United States' only producers of ''bone china'', which is distinguished for its white luminosity and chip resistance. Measures 11.5" in diameter, in fine condition.
