Children's Book Illustrator Garth Williams Signed Drawing -- Early Cover Art For the 1959 Book ''Emmett's Pig''

Famed American post-war illustrator Garth Williams preliminary pencil sketch for the 1959 children's book ''Emmett's Pig'' by Mary Stolz. Williams' depictions of characters from classics such as ''Charlotte's Web'' continue to broaden children's imaginations today. The drawing, which depicts Emmett perching on the grass with his small pig, indeed became the cover of the book. Signed ''Garth Williams'' in pencil beneath the sketch, pencil drawing on tracing paper measures 5.75'' x 9.5'' with very small numbers written in pencil at bottom left, presumably the ISBN. Fine.
