Rare first edition, first impression, third state of J.R.R. Tolkien's ''The Return of the King,'' published in 1955 by George Allen and Unwin. Third state copy, with the signature mark ''4''. In the original publisher's unclipped dustjacket. 6'' x 9'' book is slightly cocked and toned, otherwise fine. Jacket is unrestored and shows very well with only sunning to spine and very light chipping. Folding map present and in exceptional condition. The opportunity to own a very attractive early printing from Tolkien's famed trilogy.
